Silves’s Medieval Fair
In August, for 10 days, Silves takes a trip back in time and returns to the medieval period, when it was the capital of the Algarve. Street markets, historical parades, mountebanks, jugglers and fire eaters are just a few examples of what you can find.
FIESA - International Festival of Sand Sculptures (Pêra)
Every year occurs the largest festival of sand sculptures in the world. It is located in Pêra, and every year hosts the works of about 60 artists and has a different theme.
This is an annual fair that takes place in Lagoa and celebrates the Algarve’s culture and traditions. In this fair you will find exhibitions, shops, concerts, food, an animal fair and undoubtedly the best handicrafts and the best products of the region.
